Josie realized her dream of salon ownership at Salon 860 West. With over 25 years in the industry, she is a top color specialist and stylist trained by industry leaders such as Toni & Guy. Josie specializes in creative cuts and color, including balayage and ombre, as well as expert Brazilian blowouts and keratin treatments. Fluent in both English and Spanish, her artistic approach and attention to detail ensure every client leaves with their desired look.  

Maria Machuca

Maria is a color and hair specialist with more than 20 years of experience. She is passionate about staying current with industry trends through continuous education, ensuring her clients receive the most modern services. Her dedication to her craft is driven by the joy of helping her clients look and feel their best.

Ron Smith

Ron started out as a hairstylist in the area of Brea/Fullerton, CA. He always had dreams to open up his own salon within ten years of being in the industry. His dream came true when he signed the papers that handed over a small salon called The Bent Twig on June 2, 1994, the same day that his second son Austin was born. Within six weeks, Ron had completely remodeled this salon and named it Salon Jourdon. This salon was so successful that within one year they had outgrown the location.

In 1996, Ron moved to a larger building in the same shopping center so that he could expand on his dream salon and the big plans he had for it. Ron remodeled and updated this salon back in 2006, then naming it Salon 860 West.

In 2015, Ron decided to call Palm Springs their new home. Two years later, Ron and his husband embarked on a new adventure with the opening of Salon Jarick in Palm Springs where he works 3 days a week.

In 2021, Ron sold Salon 860 West to the current owners who are continuing the salon’s success. Ron currently works 2 days a week coloring and styling at Salon 860 West and 3 days a week at Salon Jarick in Palm Springs.

Ron continually desires to produce the best work for clients who sit in his chair. Ron delights in the fact that when his clients look back at photos of their life's journey, their hair reflects a permanent fingerprint of his work

Stephanie Waite

Hi! I’m Stephanie! I have been a stylist for 22 years and absolutely love it. I attended Fullerton College where I became a licensed cosmetologist. I enjoy this work and have a wealth of experience in various cuts and color treatments. My specialty is creating the perfect color for my clients, particularly with blondes. Doing hair is my passion and I love having great chats with my clients during the process. Outside of work, I’m married to the man of my dreams and occupy the role of “favorite aunt” to my 12 nieces and nephews. I love interior design and adventuring to find the best burger out there with my husband. I can’t wait to meet you!
